From Immigrant to Corporate Leader
and Executive Coach

My journey into executive and life coaching began with my desire to give back.

I grew up in China and moved to the United States as a first-generation immigrant. I faced the challenge of building a new life and career in an unfamiliar culture. Over the past 20 years, I've navigated this journey, experiencing both personal and professional growth along the way.

My career path has taken me through moments of change requiring resilience. Moving from Iowa to the Washington, DC, area as a single mother, I balanced the responsibilities of parenthood with a demanding career. As a Vice President at Freddie Mac over the past seven years, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with C-suite executives, attend board meetings, and drive initiatives across functions. These experiences have given me insight into the complexities leaders face, from strategic direction-setting to day-to-day operations.

Throughout my journey, I've encountered many of the challenges common to executives: managing a packed schedule, navigating uncertainty, aligning diverse viewpoints, and staying strategic amid daily responsibilities. Each challenge has enriched my understanding of leadership and fueled my passion to help others thrive in their roles.

In 2022, I was honored to be named an Asian Leader Worth Watching by Diversity Profile. In 2024, I joined the board of Mosaic, a nonprofit with $350 million in revenue and operations across multiple states and internationally. This opportunity has deepened my commitment to supporting organizations in achieving both their financial and social missions.

My journey into executive coaching began with my desire to give back. I completed the Leadership Coaching Certificate at Georgetown University and became certified in the Leadership Circle Profile 360 assessment. In the past two years, I’ve coached leaders from various industries, providing them with guidance, perspective, and support needed to overcome their own challenges.

Outside of work, I find joy in travel. I’m still in touch with friends from my college and MBA years in China, and my travels have taken me to unforgettable places around the world. From the breathtaking mountains of Switzerland to the rich culinary traditions of Italy, each journey has added new perspectives to my life.
